EVERYBODY®. Alice Joyce has an ideal role in “The Inner Chamber,” the big attraction at Everybody’s this afternoon and to-night, one in which she excels. She portrays both the society girl and the woman of poverty. She is beset by unscrupulous social enemies, but rises above them all and in the end triumphs. The story is intensely dramatic and furnishes all the players with roles that require exceptional ability. The story is adapted from Charles Dobie’s “The Blood Red Dawn.” “IMPERIAL INDIA.” There will be a big double bill on Monday and Tuesday, when Connie Talmadge stars in her latest six-reel comedy, “Women's Place,” supported by the gorgeous travelogue “Imperial India,” a picture which takes the onlooker through all the brilliant receptions accorded H.R.H. the Prince of Wales during his tour of the East. This big double bill will be screened at the usual prices.

THE PEOPLE’S. MATINEE TO-DAY AT 2 p.m. The revels of society's smartest set— 7 a gay Bal Masque, a swimming party wherein shapely nymphs disport —the frolics in a millionaire waster’s home, are all Hashed upon the screen in “The Breaking Point,” the newest Hodkinson release which screens at the matinee today' and to-night at the People’s. Bessie Barriscale is the star of this great production, and her supports include Walter McGrail, Pat O’Malley'Ethel Grey Terry, Joseph .Dowling, Wilfred Lucas, Winter Hall and many other popular players. Miss Barriscale as a young mother rises to sjaendid dramatic heights. The. picture will surely please you. The supporting films are Topical, Scenic, Comedy and Episode .4 of the gripping serial “Thunderbolt Jade.” The prices for both sessions for adults are, D.C. Is 6d, stalls Is. Children 6d to matinee.

EMPIRE THEATRE. THE VICE-REGALS. CLAUDE DAMPIER. After the successful showing the ViceRegals made in New Zealand last year, their forthcoming tour will be eagerly anticipated by all lovers of clean, healthy humor and popular music attractively presented. Having just completed a fivemonths. season in Melbouriie, where they earned a great reputation .for original and spontaneous humor, the Vice-Regals are up-to-date if nothing else. But there is a something else in ; their case, for there are no “travellers” in the showall are rattling, good performers with thC hallmark of Melbourne approval, and a$ such they put-everything, they undertake over the - footlights- in a manner that pleases all tastes. On this occasion the Vice-Regals oome to New Zealand reinforced by the inclusion in their ranks of that jester, Claude Dampier, one of the merriest fun machines that has appeared in New Zealand, and whose antics, face expression, and gestures proclaim hrea to be a veritable child of Thalia, the goddess of comedy. When Dampier appears round the corner of the proscenium, bloom makes a quick exit upstage, and does not reappear for the rest of the evening. On this occasion Dampier has Miss Hilda Attenboro for a partner, and the pair create a riot of rollicking fun for twenty minutes. The company is a. thoroughly sound one all round. An excellent orchestra, under Arthur Southey, includes Miss Doris Denne at the piano and Charles Stewart on the drums. The season here will commence on Monday. Box plans are now open at Collier’s.
