DEFICIT ON RAILWAYS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Sydney. July 5.. The advance statement of the railway business for the year just ended shows that the deficit will be less than £3OOBOO. A loss of £1,100.000 had been estimated. The deficit of the previous year was £577,000-CLEAR-OF TLAGUE. Sydney, July 5. The Health Department reports a clean sheet in connection with plague. The last patient left hospital yesterday and no premises are quarantined. STUD RAM SALES. Sydney, July 5. Good prices continue at the stud sheep sales. The highest price paid yesterday was 325 guineas by Shute, Bell and Co. for a special stud ram- AS. C. Rogerson paid 300 guineas, and Charles Golder (New Zealand) paid 285 guineas also for special stud rams.
