METALLING OHURA ROAD.
FROM KOHURATAHI TO TAHORM MINISTER SYMPATHETIC. (By Wire.—Parliamentary Reporter)) • Wellington, Last NightThe chairman of the WhangamomoK’, County Council interviewed the Minfe*’ ter for Public Works thia morning with reference to the metalling of the main Ohura Road from Kohuratahi to Tabor*. He urged that the work should be undertaken at the earliest possible mo- = ment, in view of the fact that in the winter the road was almost impassable, and of the further fact that, in the near future, there will be available a snppty*,; of metal from the Te Wera quarries *t reasonable prices. The Minister met the request sy®-: pathetically. He eaid that he rrnlißed the urgency and the necessity of thei work, and he would give the matter ean-i ' sideration when the estimates were be-; ing framed, but, before he made a cis ion, he would confer again with Masters, the member for the district.
