A .Sydney cable reports the death of Mr. J. 15. Fitzgerald, an ex-Minister for Health.
A Nelson Press message reports the death of Mr. John Oldham, aged 92 years. He was a descendant of the Oldhams of Werneth Abbey, Lancashire, and was a keen explorer in the early days. He arrived in 1851, and was the first to cross the Takaka hills, and he found the first gold in the Takaka river.
