A VIOLENT COMBATBETWEEN FRENCH AND GERMANS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received July 1, 5.5 p.m. Berlin, June 30. After an unsuccessful Polish attempt to dislodge the German Self-protection Company, which is occupying the town of Hindenburg, in Upper Silesia, French occupation troops surrounded the Germans. A violent combat ensued in which the French had one killed and three wounded, while the Germans had seventeen killed and seventeen wounded. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
