DRINKING BY WOMEN.
COMPLAINT BY THE POLICE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, June 29. When an application was made for a license at the Wellington races, the police complained that far too many drunken women were found on the course and they congregated in a particular room- The bench said the committee could not prevent the women being supplied, but this room must be closed. The counsel for the racing club said the officials would do their best to minimise drinking by women. A license was granted on these conditions.
