(From Our Own Correspondent.) June 28. At the Magistrate’s Court, (before Mr. A- M. Mowlem, S.M., on Monday there was a long list of cases dealt with: V. West, for taking horse shoes (slippers) from the rear of W, Aitken’s blacksmith shop, was fined £2 and costs; Wi Paku, for driving a vehicle without lights, was fined 10s and costs; A. E. Tunnicliffe, J. Edwards and 0. Cross were fined ss, 10s and £1 and costs respectively for similar offences. The Opunake Town Board cited J. Ritson, as the owner of the property, and S. Price, as the tenant, for allowing a fowl yard to become a nuisance contrary to the Health Act. Ritson was given 14 days to abate the nuisance and the lessee’s case was adjourned for 14 daysThe licensee of the Club Hotel was ordered to pay costs (£3 3s) for failing to remove rubbish from the rear of premises. In the maintenance case, Winstanley v. Winstanley, defendant’s amount of payment was fixed at £1 per week. In the following cases judgment Was given for the plaintiffs: C. Callaghan v. G. Northcott, £3B Gs 6d (costs £4 4s); Rua Moetuhuna v. Witamakiri, £2O (costs £3 3s); A. J. Crawford v. J. A. Schinkel, £145 Is lOd (costs £7 3s); E. A. Parkes v. John Bishop, £2 5s Gd (costs £1 3s); T. N. Watt v. W, Reed, £8 8s; Lyttle and Holmes v. Karatua, £3B 13s lid (costs £4 Is 6d) ; N. E. Peat v. M. Bowler, £7 12s 6d (costs £1 5s 6d); N. Reardon v. M. Bowler, £3B Ife (costs £4 Is 6d). Judgment orders: F. F. Barraclough v. J. Bishop, £5 Is lOd, in default seven days; A- E. Parkes v. C. Dyke, £lB >4s, in default 14 days; Hugh sons, Ltd. v. Tomoana Dick, £9 12s lOd, in default 10 days; John Fea ver v. Ritau £4 3s, in default 5 days.
