LOAN AT SIX PER CENT.
TAUMARUNUI POWER SCHEME By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taumarunui, Last Night. The Borough Council has been successful iu raising a loan of £47,000 through a Wellington lending institution at 6 per cent., at par, without any flotation expenses, for a term of 21 years. The money is for a hydro-electric power scheme. Plans and specifications have been prepared, and tenders will be called immediately. It is anticinpated the works will be completed in 14 months. The power will be obtained from the Wanganui River.
