EVADING TAXATION.

A DRAPER PROSECUTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., to-day gave his reserved decision in a prosecution by the Income Tax Commissioner v. Crombie, a draper, of Temuka, for failing to furnish returns of income for three years, 1918-19-20, and misleading or attempting to mislead the commissioner in relation to his income in 1920 and 1921. The magistrate found defendant guilty on all charges, and fined him £25 for failure to make a return in 1920, and £2 for failure in 1918-19, and £lO for negligently misleading the commissioner in respect to 1920-21.
