The first sale of pedigree Jersey cattle to be held at Manala by South Taranaki breeders was conducted yesterday by the Farmers’ Co-op. Society. The rain in the morning kept a number away, but despite that there was a good attendance. Including buyers from Wanganui, Wairarapa, and the South Island. Mr. C. G. Trotter was auctioneer, with Mr. C. E. Morrisey as clerk. Bidding was rather on the slow side, but the auctioneer was in his best form, and the bulk of the animals changed hands at prices that were, on the whole, fair. The deunand for yearlings was good.
