Somerset, 226 and 99 for two wickets, drew with Leicester, 351 and I*sl for two wickets (declared). Surrey, 493 and 143, drew with Cambridge, 373 (Hubert Ashton 117) and 200 for eight wickets. Hubert Ashton caught five men out in Surrey's second innings. Gloucester, 320 and 245 (Dipper 117 and 103) beat Sussex, 273 and 155. Northants, 230 and 235, beat Kent, 240 and 71. Murdin took seven wickets for 44. Lancashire, 368 (Hallows 154) and three for no wickets, beat Essex, 164 and 206,
