NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. (By Wire—-Special Reporter.) Palmerston N., Last Night. The final of the welter-weight at the No.’tU Island championships was a great fight be-> tween Willis (New Plymouth) and Hensoa. The decision was given to Henson. The crowd hooted the decision and loudly applauded Willis. Visiting judges and boxers all state it was a most unfair decision. Bantam (final): Cann (Eltham), 8.0%, beat Pearce. Welter (semi-final) : Henson (Auckland) beaC Corliss (Eltham), 10.2. DEMPSEY-WILLIS BOUT. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyrigh’ Received June 23, 9.45 p.m. New York, June 22. Rickard announced that, after a discussion with Kerns, he will promote a Dempsey-Will’s bout. Kerns asked for an assurance that when the site was chosen Rickard will obtain a guarantee that the authorities will not in-« terfere with the fight. The terms of the bout have not yet been discussed.
