NEW PLYMOUTH COLLECTION. A street collection was taken up in New Plymouth yesterday in aid -of the Russian Famine Fund, as the result of which £BO 7a Id was raised. Considering the wet weather, there is every reason to be gratified at this result, which, together with £34 3s collected at Miss Thorp’s lecture on Thursday night, makes the amount raised £ll4 10s Id. This will be further augmented by the retiring collections to be taken up at the churches to-morrow at both morning and evening services. The names of those who undertook the street collections yesterday were Mesdames Ray Ambury, T. F. Martin. Holbrook. Percy Hoby, T. M. Avery. Misses H. Rawson. A. F. Hodder, M. Good, K. Hamerton, K. Gilliver, Roughton, G. A. Drew, and E. Collins. Mi*s. E. Dockrill was the organiser.
