PEOPLE’S DAY. TARANAKI PRIZE WINNERS. (By Wire —Special Reporter.) Palmerston N., Last Night. People’s Day proved fine, though cold, and there was a very Large attendance at the Manawatu A. and P. Show, which still continues to progress. There is a considerable increase in the entries, and though new buildings have been provided, all the additional space is occupied. The principal attractions to-day w»re the two football matches between Te Ante and Wanganui Colleges, Te Aute winning both. The dairy conference was continued this morning, but was adjourned without the dairy pool being discussed. This, however, will form the principal subject for discussion when the conference resumes in the morning. The chairman announced to-day that Mr. Goodfellow, who had been one of the principal movers in the pool scheme, could not reach Palmerston till the morping, and it was necessary to hold a meeting of the committee before the discussion took place. It is understood that (South Island delegates will be present and place their ideas re. the monthly auctions scheme before the conference. The discussion will probably last all day.

Taranaki poultry fanciers were well represented at the Manawatu Poultry Association’s show, and their pens were very successful. Two of the big trophies came to Taranaki, W. Hall (Lepperton) winning the Golden Wyandotte Challenge Shield, and as he has won it four times, the last three in succession, it becomes his property. The Majkes Cup for the best bird in Wyandottes of opposite sex to the champion was won by H. E. Curdy, of Waitara.

In Minorcas, J. K. Hawkins scored a first and special. In English Leghorns, A. P. Lister (New Plymouth) scored three firsts, a special, and two thirds. Stewart and Landsperg (Normanby) scored a first and second, J. N. Eva (New Plymouth; a second and third, A. C. Aubrey (Waitara) a second.

In Leghorns, American type, H. E. Cudby (Waitara) scored with two firsts, a special, two seconds, and four thirds, and F. W. Wilson (Hawera) with two seconds.

In ibrown Leghorns, Stewart and Landsperg scoVeu a first. in silver spangled Ha-mburgs, W. Hall (Lepperton) secured a first, two seconds and one third, whilst his silver Wyandottes took two firsts, a special, and third, and his golden secured three firsts, two specials, three seconds, and a third, H. E. Cudby scoring a first and sp a second and a third. In partridge Wyandottes, A. C. Aubrey (Waitara) gained a second and third, and in Plymouth Rocks (American barred) fdur firsts and -a special. In Houdans, Stewart and Landsperg obtained two firsts.

In bantams, Betts Bros. (New Plymouth) secured one first.

In ducks, Stewart and Landsperg scored three firsts, two seconds, and a third;

In the utility section (Minorcas) J. K. Hawkins (New Plymouth) got a second and third, and A. C. W. Bellringer a third.

In brown Leghorns, J. N. Eva (New Plymouth) won a first, a special, and two thirds; A. C. Aubrey (Waitara) a first; A. P. Lister a first, and H. Ward (New Plymouth) a second In Indian Runner ducks, Stewart and Landsperg won three firsts and a special. In pigeons, H. J. Moverley scored two firsts and a special, three seconds, two tliirds. and one v.li.c.

Several New Plymouth competitors figure in the photographic section. E. C. Coleman and L. Abbott are placed second in the best collection of pupils’ photos attending any school. In fancy work, Miss M'Pherson (Hawera) scores a second, two thirds, and a v.h.c.; Mrs. A. Lend (Hawera) a first and a second, and Mrs. Blackley (New Plymouth) a third and v.h.c. in the large classes.
