PLUNKET SOCIETY.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Plunket Society was field on Monday, June 19, at 3 p.m. Those present, were: Mesdames Home (in the chair), W. Weston, Denny-Brown, Stuart Russell, Jenkin, Home, Cock, Roebuck, Wade, H. Fraser, T. Shaw, H. Russell, Ambury, Elliot, Valentine, and Stocker (secretary). Apologies were received from Mrs. Newton King, Blackley, and Loveridge. The nurses, car and finance reports were read and adopted. Correspondence was read from central council re the conference being held in Wellington. It was stated that the society’s work at the winter show was a great success, and the rest room was very much appreciated by the mothers and their babies. Mrs. Stuart Russell very kindly handed to the society a donation of £lO. The work for the society donp by Mrs. Stuart Russell for nearly three years has been much appreciated. It was decided to remind members that subscriptions to the Plunket Society are now due for 1922-1923. The following subscriptions have been received: Mrs. W. Weston £2, Mrs. Wade £1 Is, Mrs. Cock ss. Donation from Mr. Wright, Okoke Road, 10s. The following is the nurses report for the month of May: Number of babies on the list, old cases 213, new 19; visits received at the office, adults 288, babies 235; advice to expectant mothers 5; advice on general hygiene 54; mothers shown how to make milk 6; irrigations given 15; letters received answered 5; telephone calls 30; mothers received massage 2; visits paid to Waitara 4; visits paid to Inglewood 5.
