ORIGIN OF ANTHRAX.
ORGANISMS IN SHAVING-BRUSH. THE CHRISTCHURCH CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Anthrax organisms have been discovered in the shaving-brush which had been used by the tannery worker who died ten days ago from anthrax. Dr. Pearson, bacteriologist at the Christchurch Hospital, who made the experiments, states the organisms were found only with difficulty. They were not found in the exposed hair of the brush, but were uncovered in the handle part. There is no brand on the brush, so that at this stage its origin has not been definitely determined. Investigations of the matter from the place where the victim worked were not rewarded with success, but all the experiments have not yet been completed.
