CONTROL OF FINANCES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.--Copyright. Paris, June 17. The committee of guarantees has gone to Berlin to organise control of Government receipts and expenditure and to seek an agreement as to dating the restriction of the expenditure of capital.
HOSTILE 'FRENCH COMMENTS. Paris, June 18. The Intranaigeant states that British financiers appear to have close access to Mr. Lloyd George and are able to influence his policy. Poincare and Mr. Lloyd George on Monday will bridge the gulf separating them. France remains attached to the Entente but, before discussing a reduction of the reparations, it is desirable that Germany should give proof of her goodwill or carry out her treaty obligations. This she has hitherto refused to do, because she is encouraged in her refusal from outside.
