ENTERTAINMENTS.

BIG SPECIAL TO-NIGHT. Anita Stewart’s latest big nine-reel special picture “.Sowing the Wind,” from Sydney Grundy’s great play, will be shown at both the People’s and Everybody’s Theatre to-night. This feature is one of the finest productions released this year, and in the usual course would have been screened at Everybody’s tonight and to-morrow. The special booking of “Way Down East” for to-morrow has altered the usual arrangements, and the management has decided to screen “Sowing the Wind” at both theatres tonight only, and as a special concession to the picture-going public this big attraction will be shown at 'both theatres. At the People’s the supporting programme will include the first episode of the new serial “Thunderbolt Jack,” with Jack Hoxie, a wonderful horseman, in the name part. Seats for either theatre can* be reserved at Collier’s. Patrons are reminded that tna starting time will be 7.30 at Everybody’s and the usual time, 7.45, at the People's.

“WAY DOWN EAST,” TO-MORROW. This remarkably successful picture creation of the great D. H. Griffiths will commence its local season of three matinees and three evening screenings at Everybody’s to-morrow afternoon at; 2 p.m. It .is a photo-play of plain and honest people, in which the human element makes a strong appeal. The moral expressed is a single standard of morals for man and woman. The picture con- : tains some powerful dramatic situations. In one scene the hapless heroine is turned out in a terrific storm. Attempting to cross an ice-bound river, she is marooned on an icefield, which steadily drifts towards dangerous rapids. The rescue in the nick of time is most sensational. The cast, headed by Lilian Gish, includes many of the best-known kinema stars, and the big production is presented with that attention to detail which marks all Griffith emanations. The incidental music by a special orchestra is a succession of delightful melodies and impressive compositions, accentuating each situation. Prices of admission are D.C. 2s 6d, and stalls 2s and Is fid. Box plans are at? Collier's for the full season.
