INGLEWOOD.
BOROUGH COUNCIL. (From Our Own Correspondent.) . Juno 16. The Inglewood Borough Council met on Tuesday. Present: The Mayor (Mr. J. R. Sutherland), and Crs. D. T. Egarr, W. H. Eagar, R. J. Frewin, A. B. Gam‘lin and F. Spurdie. Notification was received that the hospital levy was £261 15s. It was resolved that this council cannot see its way to support the Gore Borough Council in its endeavor to get the amusement tax, levied throughout the Dominion, made payable to the local bodies where collected. The transfer of lease from H. Giles to A. Schreiber was consented to. The overseer was directed to make good the footpath on the east side of James Street South. The resignation of the pound-keeper was accepted, and James Welham was appointed in his place. The works committee's report was adopted. It was decided that the shed that it .had been proposed to build in the cemetery is not needed, and the project •was abandoned. The hall committee was instructed to inspect qnd improve the outside conveniences at the Town Hall. a
