HOCKEY.

INGLEWOOD (7) v. STRATFORD <3). Playing at Stratford on Thursday, the Inglewood hockey team defeated Stratford by seven goals to three. Stratford’s chief fault was lack of combination, and although they frequently had Inglewood defending, the absence of concerted effort prevented them from scoring. Clark played a sound game for Stratford and scored all three goals, while Sharrock showed the qualifications of a good player, and with practice should go a long way’. Lineham also played well. J. Evetts, Inglewood’s centre-forward, played a great game, and H. Evans, at full-back, was very safe. Although the Stratford team have not made a great showing they have some promis’ng men, their first need being practice, to encourage combination.
