HOSTILITIES RESUMED. TRUCE THOUGHT A RUSE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 16, 9.50 p.m. Pekin, June 16. Fighting on a large scale has been resumed by Wu Pei Fu and Chaug Tso Lin. The truce appears to have been a ruse on the part of Chang Tso Lin to gain time to reorganise Ins army. • , „ Chang Tso Lin is now virtually surrounded, and is being driven towards Mukden. The plight of the wounded is terrible. The capture of two Japanese spies is confirmed; they were surrendered to the Japanese commandant at the treaty port.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
