GOING HOME.
PASSAGES FOR WILTSHIRE CREW. LESSONS OF THE WRECK. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. As a result of the wreck of the Wiltshire, the Auckland Harbor Board has commissioned the harbormaster (Captain Sergeant) to proceed, to England and Europe to inquire into the latest type of salvage tug fitted with lifesaving appliances, and about wireless outfits for coastal work. Final arrangements have now been made for the passages of tne officers and crew of the Wiltshire to London. Three trimmers will leave by the Huntingdon from Auckland on Tuesday. The Tasmania, which is at present at Gisborne and sails from Wellington for London next week, will take two sailors and six firemen. It is not certain, yet whether the men will join the steamer at Gisborne or at Wellington. The Ruahine, which is due to leave Wellington on June 22, will take nine engineer officers, the three wireless operators, the ship’s carpenter, thirteen of the providore staff and 24 deck and engine-room hands. Captain Hayward, Mr. W. G. Goddard (chief officer), Mr. Harris (second officer), Mr. Musgrove (third officer), Mr. Raven (fourth officer), two engineers and 29 of the deck and engineroom department will sail by the Rimutaka, which leaves Wellington for London on July 10. Married men and those deserving of most consideration will have an opportunity of proceeding by the Ruahine.
