SIR ROSS SMITH’S FUNERAL
AN IMPRESSIVE CORTEGE. ALL BUSINESS SUSPENDED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 15, 8.40 p.m. Adelaide, June 15. Business was suspended practically all over the city for the funeral of Sir Ross Smith. At mid-day the courts adjourned and the shops were closed, and during the progress of the cortege the tram traffic was suspended. The casket was borne on an aeroplane trailer bearing the cap, medals, goggles anti gloves of the dead airman, and followed by returned soldiers, airmen, and 14 State carriages. Dense crowds lined the route of the funeral, which was one of the largest and most imposing ever witnessed in Ade-laide.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. SYDNEY’S TRIBUTE. HALF-MASTED FLAGS.
