Leather.—Good demand for best sides. Supplies of small Australian good tannage 22d to 24d, fair on an 8d to T2d basis. Fair inquiry for good qualities. First Sydneys 21d to 24d, seconds 14d to 16d. LONDON WOOL SALES. London, June 14. At the wool sales 13,259 were New Zealand and 3039 Puntas. It was a miscellaneous selection. There was a good attendance from all centres, including the United States, and excellent competition. Practically everything was cleared. Continental buyers operated very freely, but the Home, trade was more reserved. The merinos . consisted chieflly of average wools and met with strong Continental demand al May closing rates. Crossbreds were- keenly competed for, especially best and medium sorts, which tended in the sellers' favour. Shabby and coarse grades were weaker at about 5 per cent, below May price levels. Scoured were very firm, slipes irregular and unchanged, lambs firm and unchanged. WHEAT CARGOES. London. Juno 13. Wheat. —Cargoes are weak and 6d to Is lower owlrtg to the sharp decline in the American and Continental exchange. An Australian parcel, ex Clan Mackellan, sold at 535. INDIAN TEA SALES ’ Calcutta, June 14. At the second tea sale the quality was good, demand active, and prices firmer for all classes.
