The title and estate of Sir Andrew Harvey Armstrong, who died at Cairns Hui private hospital, Auckland, on June J, descended to Mr. Nesbitt William Ann. strong, seaman and waterside worker, residing at Port Ahuriri, Napier The late Sir Andrew was born m and succeeded his father, the Rev. Sir Edmund Frederick Armstrong, in 1899. ne came to New Zealand in April, 1931, for health reasons, and spent some time at Rotorua. He was formerly captain of the 3rd Battalion Leinster Regiment (Royal Canadians), and served in South Africa. He was a Justice of the Peace for King’s County, and High Sheriff in After the outbreak of the war he joined the Connaught Rangers. The baronetcy was created in 1841, and the Armstrong seat is Gallen Priory, Ferbane, King's

County, Leinster. Sir Nesbitt is the young brother of the/ late baronet. He received his early edn« cation at Mount Lodge, St. Hastings, England, and later travelled extensively. He married in 1910 Clarice Amy, daughter of John Carter Hodkinson, of Maryborough, Victoria. He has one son and one daughter, aged 9 and 11 respectively. The new baronet is related to Dame Nellie Melba, who in 1882 married Charles Armstrong, youngest son of Six. Andrew Armstrong, first baronet.
