ATTITUDE OF LABOR UNIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.-—Copyright. Received June 14, 7.10 p.m. Melbourne, June 14. Mr. Sastri, the Indian delegate who is visiting Australasia, addressing representatives of industrial unions, reiterated that his mission was to advocate the cause of Indians resident in the Commonwealth. He had no desire to encroach on the “white Australia” policy. In speaking to Australia he was also speaking to New Zealand and the other Dominions. The secretary of the Trades Hall, replying, assured Mr. Sastri of the Australian workers’ full sympathy with the Indian peoples in their struggle foy freedom and home rule, and he gave an assurance that Indians resident in Australia would receive consideration from the Australian Labor Party. — Aus.-N.Z.
