LONDON WOOL SALES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, June 13. The wool sales have opened. Prices are on a parity with May closing prices, except for low crossbreds, which are 5 per cent, lower. THE WHEAT MARKET. London, June 12. Wheat cargoes steady, owing to lighter shipments, but in consequence of the collapse of the Continental exchange, demands are very poor. The Baluchiston cargo brought 53s 3d, and the Darnholm’s 53s 9d. METAL PRICES. London, June 12. Copper.—Spot, £6l 8s 9d; forward,. £6l 3s 9d. Lead.—Spot, £24 15s; forward, £23 15s Spelter.—Spot, £'2B 2s 6d; forward, £27 17s 6d. Tin.—Spot, £l5l 17s Gd; forward, £153 3s 9d. ■ Silver, 35 3-8 d per ounce. CEYLON TEA SALES. Colombo, June* IS. At the tea sale two million pounds were offered, and competition was good. Common broken Pekoe sold at Is, medium at Is -Id, fine at Is 4d, Fannings ll%d. TARANAKI SALES. Newton King, Ltd. report;— At Douglas on June 5, lambs brought 8s Id, forward do. Ils lid, fat do. 14s lid,. 16s, ewes in lamb 18s Id, full-snouth do. IDs,, wethers 18s Id, fat do. 21s, store cows 24a, 305.weaner steers 13s Gd, 20-month do. £.l 19s, 3-year-old do. £2 18s 6d, weaner heifers . £.2 17s, poorer sorts 345, in-calf heifers': £6; £7, small and backward do. £4, £4.2s 6d;. dairy cows £9 ss, £lO ss. • At Stony River, on the 6th inst.,: /iambsmade 8s Gd, 12s, weaner heifers 20s, 27 s, 37s 6d, choice Holstein do. £2 Bs, weaner steers 16s, store cows 21s, 32s 6d, forward do. £2, fat do. £2 12s Gd. £3 ss, 3%-year-old bullocks £3 10s, ' springing cows £9 10s, £ll, £l2. At the same sale we conducted a clearing sale on account of Mr. W. H. Silver, and report a satisfactorj' clearance. The herd of 37 cows, which were in rather poor condition, averaging £9, the best selling from £l2 to £l5. A half-draught mare realised £3O 10s. At Waitoltoi, on June 7, we conducted a clearing sale of grade cows, implements, etc., on account of Mt. S. J. Sutton. There was a very good attendance of buyers, and good prices were realised for everything. Half of the cows were very nice Jerseys, and sold from £l6 to £24, Shorthorns and Holsteins sold from £9 to £l3, aged mare £2O, yearling filly £ll, sow and littef* £9 9s, weaner Jersey heifers £3 15s. At Waiwakaiho, on the Bth inst., store cows 20s, 27s Gd, light fat do. £2 ss, weaner steers 10s, 12s Gd, 2%-year-old do. 365, weaner heifers 26s Gd, £2 2s, Jersey do. £5 7s Gd, empty heifers £2 7s Gd, £3 4s.
