LICENSING COMMITTEE.
THE WAITOMO DISTRICT. ; The annual meeting of the Waitomo Licensing Committee was held last week. C. J. O’Neill (Urenui Hotel) applied for a renewal. Various requirements outlined by the Health Officer were said to have been attended to. Renewal was granted subject to certain improvements. Application for renewal was made by D. D. McPherson (Masonic Hotel, Waitara). Renewal was granted on the licensee undertaking to make small improvements. Application for renewal by Fred. Locke (Waitara Hotel). Granted on counsel guaranteeing that minor matters will be attended to. Application for renewal by Archibald Keith (Club Hotel, Waitara) was granted on condition that certain matters are attended to. Messrs. Hatrick and Co, were granted a renewal of their wholesale license. ' The chairman said that generally the police report on the conduct of the houses was satisfactory, there being no adverse comments. It was stated by the Health Officer that the fire escapes at the Masonic and Club Hotels, should be •seen to, and also was made a condition of renewals.
