THE THEOSOPHICAL CONTROVERSY By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Oopyrlgh t Received June 10, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, June io. lhe controversy regarding the Liberal Catholic Church and some of its dignitaries, which is now the subject of police inquiry, has caused a definite split in the Sydney Theosophical Lodge. A new organisation, styled the Blavatsky Lodge, has been constituted, to which 150 members who dissociate themselves from the demand for an investigation into the State affairs, are alleged to have attached themselves to the charter for the formation of a new lodge, granted by Mrs. Besant.
TROUBLE ON A STEAMER.
Received June 11, 5.5 p.m. Melbourne. June 11. The trouble on the steamer CoJUna reached a head by the company paying off the whole of the crew and stating that they are determined the ship shall remain idle until the men are prepared fully to accord with the official decision of the manning committee.
