LABOR IN AUSTRALIA.
CONFERENCE DELAYED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 8, 5.5. p.m. Sydney, June 8. The labor conference was the scene of more recriminations between exMinisters. Messrs. Mute'i, Lazzariiii and Loughlin denied Mr. McGirr's charges and urged the appointment of a special committee to inquire into the true position. The conference adjourned till next day without reaching finality on the subject.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. Received June 8, 7.40 p.m. Sydney, June 8.
“The linen washing” amongst exMinisters is adding zest to the public interest in the proceedings of the Labor Conference, which, at times, are very warm. Charges of the betrayal of Cabinet secrets and of deliberate lying are freely made. The conference got itself badly tangled over this, and the objective issues, and the outcome of promises, widen the rift already in existence in the party ranks.
