BOXING.
NEXT WEEK’S TOURNAMENT. From inquiries that are now coming to hand from all parts of Taranaki there Is every indication of a large attendance on Saturday night, July 17, at the Coronation Hall, when C. Whitaker and J. Heeney will meet in a fifteen rounds bout. Reports from each camp show that the men are in the pink of condition, each being detenmlned to gain the big end of the purse, so that the public is assured of a stirring contest. The local professionals are also in good nick, and should put up a good bout on Thursday night. Geo. Richardson, the hero of numerous struggles, Is in great form at present, but the supporters of the Lepperton man, L. McAsey, are confident that their man will fully extend him. The amateur bouts on both nights are also creating considerable attention, as reports state that some of the unknown men will prove surprise packets. The house committee is arranging to provide ample seating accommodation at the Coronation Rail to cope with the great crowds expected.
