FARMERS’ PROBLEMS.
THE AUCKLAND CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.-—Preas Association. „ Auckland, Last Night. e . •‘' annerfl ’ Conference passed the following resolutions:— That the Railway Department be asked to adopt regulations, to take effect m two years, that only dehorned cattle be carried on the railway. That the conference is not satisfied that the proposed cattle tick regulations will prove effective and urges the Live Stock Department to insist on all infected cattle being dipped. That fat stock be sold by weight. That in assessing income-tax losses incurred in one year be carried over against the profits of the next year or an average of three years be- allowed /or assessing the tax. That the Government be asked to proceed with legislation for the establishment of agricultural co-operative banks.
That the Imperial Government be approached, through the New Zealand Government, on the matter of giving preference concessions to produce from the Dominions
The conference rejected a remit to the effect that the Government be urged to make it compulsory for local bodies to adopt unimproved rating.
