THE ASSOCIATION GAME. AUSTRALIANS v. WESTLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Greymouth, Last Night. In beautiful weather 2000 witnessed the "Soccer” match between the Australians and Westland, and after an interesting encounter the visitors were victorious by two goals to The Westlanders scored early as the result of a good cross shot by Grey (centre forward), which gave Cartwright no chance. The Westlanders, with the wind in their favour, relied on individual play in the first half, and held their own till after half-time. The second spell saw the visitors continuously pressing, good combination being shown, though time after time they failed to notch a goal at the critical moment. Eventually, from a penalty, Brown got a goal. Later Bennett fissed out a shot by Dane, 1 and Brown at once shot it into the net. THE RUGBY GAME. Central division fixtures. THIRD GRADE.. Inglewood v. Stratford, at Stratford, 1.30 p.m., Mr. R. R. Tyrer. FOURTH GRADE. Saturday.—lnglewood y. Stratford, at Stratford, 1.30 p.m., referee to be appointed. PRIMARY SCHOOL MATCHES. At the racecourse on Saturday Waitara defeated Central by 6 points to nil. Mr. Goodacre refereed. Yesterday High School Prep, defeated West End by 9 points to 3. Mr. Eggleton refereed.
