TROUBLE ON WAKATU.

Levin and Co’s steamer Wakatu completed her overhaul yesterday, but when call was made for the crew, tj».e men refused to sign on when informed that the reduced manning scale was to be adhered to. Later. The Wakatu trouble was settled after a conference between the master of the vessel. Levin and Co.’s shipping manager and the Seamen’s Union delegate. It was agreed by the company under protest to sign on the number demanded by the men in order not to inconvenience shippers.
