MODIFIED PROGRAMME, MANY NEW SHIPS. BUILDING NEXT YEAR, By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 6, 5.20 p.m. Tokio, June 6. The newspaper Mainichi Shimbun reports that a modification has been aj> proved of the Japanese naval programme, providing for four 10,000 ton cruisers, four 7000 and twenty-four 1500 ton cruisers, twenty-eight submarines, two airplanes and carriers, and fourteen special duty vessels. The cruisers will carry eight-inch guns. Construction will start in 1923. —Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
