TURKISH ATROCITIES.
INVESTIGATION BY NATIONS. AMERICA’S CO-OPERATION By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright Received June 4, 11.40 p.m. Washington, June 3. Despite previous reports to the contrary, Mr. C. E. Hughes (Secretary of State) has announced that the United States is prepared to join in the investigations into the Turkish atrocities in Anatolia, proposed by Britain, France and Italy. The United States also suggested that a separate commission be formed to investigate the Turkish counter charges against the Greeks and the Armenians, and that the two commissions unite in a comprehensive report on the entire situation in Asia Minor. Mr. Hughes stipulates that the United States assumes no further obligation and enters on no commitment. Her purpose in participating in an investigation is to enable her to determine her future policy in relation to the authorities concerned.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
