A New York cable statee that Sir Ernest Raeburn, director general in the United States of the British Ministry of Shipping, died of pneumonia after five days’ illness. A London cable states that Sir John Rees, M.P. for Nottingham .East, fell off the Scotch express at Chesterfield, and died in hospital. At the inquest a. verdict of accidental death was returned, there being no evidence to show, ijhow he came to fall from the train. The death of Mr. Alfred J. Bocock, a well-known resident of Inglewood, occurred suddenly yesterday. Mr. Bocock, who was a son of Mr’ G. Bocock, of New Plymouth, was the travelling representative in North Taranaki for A.W.R. milking machines, and was well known throughout the district. Re took a prominent part in school committee work. He leaves a widow and a large family.
