AUCKLAND MEETING. ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES. Auckland, June 2. The weather was cold and wintry at Ellerslie this morning, and the bulk of the horses were restricted to steady pacing on the sand, which was the only track available. Before breakfast Cold Steel did four furlonga in 50sec. After the Interval Roman did three furlongs in 39sec. Irapuka ran three furlongs in 37sec. Startegy and L’Amour did five rurtongs in lenin. Ssec. Te Kuri ran four furlongs, the last three in 39scc. Gladful beat Birkenella over seven furlongs, the last six being run in Imin. 21 2-ssec. Bagdad and Gold Flame covered seven furlongs in Imin. 33sec. Miss Gold did four furlongs in 50sec. Gold Star beat Passin’ Through over five furlongs in Imin. 4 2-ssee.; the latter took Imin. 7 l-ssec. Hipo ran four furlongs in 52sec. Simonides and Voluble tried the brush hurdles. Both stopped at the second, and the iatter repeatedly refused; the former got over at the second attempt. Royal Abbey jumped eight brush hurdles in good style. King Abbey jumped four hurdles, fencing quickly. No Surrender was very sore after working yesterday. GUIANFORM SCRATCHED. Scratching.—Guianform was withdrawn from the Great Northern Hurdles a* 11.40 a.m. to-day. EGMONT PARK DEAD, Egmont Park, a well-known Taranaki racehorse, died at Hawera on Thursday evening, presumably from the effects of blood-poison-ing The horse was a bay gelding, six years old. and was by Sylvia Park—Toddy.
