GOODS FROM GERMANY.
EVADE AUSTRALIAN CUSTOMS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 2, 11.45 p.m. Sydney, June 2. The president of the Chamber of Commerce has brought under the notice of the Tariff Board the fact that German goods have already reached Sydney, a consignment being landed at Melbourne some time ago, evading the Customs officers, and some part of it was purchased by a Sydney firm. The Customs Department at Sydney heard of the transaction and the goods were held up for a month before the nrm was allowed to dispose of them. —Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
