MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
NEW PLYMOUTH SITTING. A sitting of the New Plymouth Magistrate's Court was held yesterday before Mr. A. M. Mowlem/ S.M. UNDEFENDED CASES. Judgment for plaintiff was given in the following cases: Henry J. Low (suing on behalf of the Crown) v. Andrew G. Hart, £93 10s 7d (costs £5 13s); Dollie van Praagh v. W. Arthur Flohr, £5O (costs £2 2s 6d); Robert Wood v. Lewis R. Hope, £l4 2s (costs £2 17s); Wm. A. Haskell v. Gordon Jeffries, £3 7s 6d Icosts £1 7s Cd). FAILURE TO ATTEND DRILL. For failure to attend drill, Keith G. McKoy was fined. £1 (costs 7s). BREACHES OF BY-LAWS. On the information of the police Frank Gall was fined £1 (costs 7s) for riding a motor cycle along Devon Street Central at a greater speed than twelve miles per hour, and John S. Philip, for passing a stationary tramcar on the inear side, was fined 5s (costs 7s). ! For leaving an unlighted car standj ing in the street at night George A. Lee < was fined £1 (costs 7s). On the information of the borough i inspector, Leo. Bridgman, for riding a i motor cycle at a greater speed than 8 i miles per hour when riding across the intersection of Devon and Gover I Streets, was fined £1 (costs 7s). i Bruce Stone, for allowing a motor ; car to stand in the street at night j without lights, was fined £2 (costs 7s). I For riding an unlighted bicycle at night Leo Dodunski was fined 10s I(costs 7s). Lionel Bishop, for driving a motor at ; a greater speed than 8 miles per hour, ' was fined £1 (costs 7s). I Frank Bethell, Gilbert Ellis and JoI siah Taylor, for riding unlighted bicyj rles at night, were fined 10s and costs. Eric Parker, for riding a bicycle on the footpath, was fined 10s (costs 7s), and Henry Aldridge, for riding a bicycle at night without a light, was similarly dealt with. For breaches of the New Plymouth borough by-laws, R. T. McQuade was fined £1 (costs 7s), John O’Grady 10s (costs 7s), and Alex. Vernon £2 (costs 7s). On the information of the Taranaki county inspector, Jas. Mudford, for allowing a coxy to be at large on Ngamotu Road,/was fined £1 (costs 17s 6d). Wm. George, for allowing a cow to be at large, was fined £1 (costs £1 6s). MAINTENANCE CASE. Terumateata Marcelle Winiki proceeded against Thomas Merlin Winiki for failure to pay maintenance amounting to £l(5 up to May 18, 1922. The case was adojurned for a week.
