WAR RELIEF ASSOCIATION.

APPLICATIONS FROM IMPERIAL MEN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, May 30. Sine - ? January 1, 173 applications for assistance have peen received by the War Relief . Association from Imperial soldiers, including 41 Australians. The total applications from outsiders are 226, of which 112 have been received in Wellington alone. The committee expressed great concern at the increasing number of men who did not serve with the New Zealand forces. In reply to a question the chairman said there was power to deal with such cases, hut it was necessary to conserve the funds for our own disabled soldiers. The committee expected to have 3796 cases to deal with this year.
