NEW PLYMOUTH SPIRITUALISTS.
GENERAL MEETING. (Contributed.) At the Spiritualists’ Room, on Friday evening, May 19, a general meeting of members and intending members was held to consider the constitution issued by the* New Zealand National Association of Spiritualists, to form a working committee, and to elect a president and vice-president. The constitution was adopted. Mr. W. Tweedale was again elected president, Mr. J. Arthur as vice-president, and. Mrs. F. Arden hon. secretary and treasurer. A strong wording committee was formed. Mr. F. Davis reported that Stratford had decided to affiliate as a branch of the New Plymouth Society, 30 members having been accepted, Mr. F. Davis was elected as delegate from the Stratford branch. The meeting closed with a unanimous and hearty vote of thanks to Mr. W. Tweedale, president, the retiring vice-president (Mrs. Bullot, senr.), and Mrs. F. Arden (hon. secretary and treasurer), for their untiring -efforts for the growth and progress of the Spiritualists’ Church in New Plymouth.
, At Stratford Forresters’ Hall, on Thursday evening last, Mr. H. Howard, lof Christchurch (under the auspices of the Stratford branch of the New Plymouth Spiritualists’ Church), gave an address on “The Way of the Spirit.” There was a very large and interested audience, and Mr. Howard spoke eloquently on the subject. Mr. Howard is a decided aeqiasition to his society. After the address, written questions were answered to the satisfaction of all, and clairvoyant descriptions and messages given. Mr. Howard speaks at Waitara on Thursday next.
