TARANAKI EGG CIRCLE.

THE ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of the Taranaki Co-operative Egg Society records that the past year’s operations were very satisfactory. The total number of eggs disposed of during the year was 42,684 dozen, which realised £3677 14s lid. It will be of interest to learn that arrangements have been made with Messrs. L. A. Nolan and Co. for a guaranteed supply of all poultry foods for the coming year. At present some members find it costly and inconvenient to deliver their eggs to the depot, and to obviate the trouble arrangements have been made whereby members living in the borough will h ve their eggs called for periodically. During the year Mr. E. C. Jarrett (Government instructor) visited the distvi. t and gave advice and assistance to members on the rearing and raising of chickens. We were also fortuna+’i in having Mr. Cocker (Government instructor) last month, and his services were taken advantage of by a large number of members. It cannot be too strongly impressed upon members the necessity to stamp their eggs legibly and also of f rwarding them in a clean and fresh condition, as members should realise that any complaints against our eggs -*c tc not only upon the responsible individual but on the society as a whole. Mr. J. K. Hawkins retires from the executive by rotation, he being eligible for re-election. Messrs. W. Scott and J. W. Smith have retired from the executive by resignation and do not seek re-election. In conclusion the executive would like to point out that, as we are a purely co-operati/e body, it should be the aim of every member to endeavour to draw in all nonmembers who, by holding back, are only i helping to retard instead of to improve our market.
