DECOYED TO DEATH.
BOURNEMOUTH MURDER. CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE. London, May 15. Only ticket-holders were admitted to the Bournemouth Police Court, the doo's of which were besieged for three ho irs before the opening of the trial of Thos. Allaway, aged 30, a chauffeur, w r o is charged with the murder of Irene Wilkins after having decoyed her to Bournemouth by bogus telegrams. The circumstantial nature of the evidence was indicated by the proseeutoi, who said that experts would show that the motor-car tracks at the scene M the murder .nade by Dunlep Magumn tyres. Experts would testify, the prosecutor continued, to the ■■'.imilariiy of the handwriting on vhis <j 11 s’ni ’.ir telegrams, one, despatched on Deeeiubci’ 20. asking for a nurse, and another sent on December 22, in response to MLs Wilkuis’ advertisement. A remand for a week was granted. Among the wit:—ses were two post office clerks, who testified that a men of the prisoner’s build and voice handed in two telegrams. When cross-examined, they said they were not quite certain tnat it was the prisoner. A newsagent said, under cross-examination, he was not sure that it was Allaway who bought the newspaper, but honestly believed it was.
