Port Chalmers, left London May 19. Due at New Plymouth middle of July. KAITOKE FOR NEWCASTLE. The weather having moderated, the Kaitoke, which has been discharging a cargo of sleepers and coal from Newcastle, sailed for that port on the return voyage at 8.10 a.m. yesterday. PORT VICTOR IN PORT. The C. and D. liner Port Victor arrived from Newcastle yesterday morning after an exceptionally rough trip of 4% days, comparatively siniooth water not being reached till the vessel arrived about 20 miles off the coast. The vessel arrived off the port at 10 a.m., and was boarded by the harbormaster (Captain W. Waller) and port health officer (Dr. Wade) at 10.25 a.m. Pratique being granted the vessel came alongside at 11.40. The Port Victor is a vessel of 7280 tons gross, her length overall being 486 ft. ; she is
thus among the longest boats to be berthed here. She was lightly laden entering port, and was drawing 19ft. Associated with Captain S. C. Cottell are the following: Chief officer, Mr. W. L. Swingden; second; Mr. J. Hunter, R.N.R.; third, Mr. R. S. Keating, R.N.R. : fourth, Mr. S. E. Dow, R.N.R. ; surgeon, Dr. M. M. Baxter; chief engineer, Mr. A. K. Brownley, L.I.E. ; second, Mr. J. Lockie : third, Mr. ,T. .1. Corlett, R.N.R.; fourth, Mr. A. Cutter; fifth, Mr. F. Mitchell; chief refrigerating engineer, Mr. R. Fraser; second, Mr. R. Eccles ; wireless operators, Messrs. J. Griffith and A. S. Moore; senior cadets, C. Newton, S. O. Maddison, B. A. Munday, and F. G. Battle. There are 78 of a crew. The vessel is to lift a cargo of butter, cheese, mear and general cargo for London, and will commence loading this morning. It is expected to dispatch her for Wanganui roadstead and Wellington in continuation of Homeward loading on Thursday. BADEN POWELL TO-MORROW. The Baden Powell is now tlmed%to leave Wellington to-day for New Plymouth, arriving her to-morrow. CANADIAN CONSTRUCTOR ON THURSDAY. The Canadian Constructor is announced to arrive at New Plymouth from Wellington on Thursday. The vessel has 17,500 cases of benzine and kerosene to unload here. OVERSEA MOVEMENTS.
