DAIRY PRODUCE.
THE POOL PROPOSAL OPINION IN ENGLAND. CONTROL NOT FAVORED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Received May 26, 7.55 p.m. London, May 25. A meeting of the provision trade section of the London Chamber of Commerce passed, by a large majority, a resolution expressing readiness to cooperate with New Zealand shippers for better methods of marketing their produce, always provided that no scheme of control is set up in this country, which would create artificial market conditions, and such a scheme would prove prejudicial alike to the interests of the producer, the distributor and the consumer. The view was also expressed that no revolution in the methods of marketing New Zealand dairy produce should be supported by the New Zealand Government until all the interested branches of the trade in this country had been consulted.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable MEETING TN THE SOUTH. OPINION EVENLY DIVIDED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night. A meeting of farmers and others with dairy interests discussed the proposed compulsory dairy pool. Opinion seemed fairly evenly divided and the meeting terminated without the adoption of any resolution.
