LONDON MARKETS. BUTTER AND CHEESE PRICES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, May 25. Butter.—Very dull. Danish weak, 176; New Zealand choicest 160 s to 1665; Australian 154 s to 158 s. Chese.—Flat. New Zealand white 68s to 70s, colored ‘76s to 80s; Australian white 64s to 665; colored 745. The Ceramic’s Tasmanian apples were in good condition. New Yorks brought 13s 6d to 14s 6d, Stunners 15s to 16s 6d, scarlets Ils to 14s 6d, Cleopatras 13s 6d to 15s 6d, Jonathans 12s. The Corinthlc’s New Zealand apples were rather rusty and brought— Jonathans Ils to 14s 6d, London Pippins 12s 6d, Baldwins 12s to 13s, Stunners 12s to 16s. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Melbourne, May 26. Barley.-—English 3s lOd to 4s; Cape, 2s lid to 3s. Oats.—3s to 3s 4d. Potatoes.—£3 to £4 10s. Onions. £5 10s to £6. Hides. Market irregular and competition not keen. Values declined a halfpenny, according to condition. THE PIG MARKET. Store pigs realised from 15s to 24s at Newton King, Ltd.’s New Plymouth haymarket yesterday. Only a few were penned. FRESH FOOD COMPANY. The Fresh Food Company paid thejr .suppliers Is 3d per lb. for April, and expect -to pay out Is 4d until the end of June. Reviewing the prospects of butter and cheese for the coming season, with butter firm at comparatively good prices and cheese unfortunately on the down grade, with large quantities of this season's make still. to sell, it would seem to be a wise move for farmers to send their cream to this finm, as everything points to favorable prices for the early sp»son’s output.
