WAGES FOR SHEARERS.
CONFERENCE TO BE HELD, By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A conference between representatives •of 'the New Zealand Workers’ Union and the Sheep-owners’ Federation to discuss making a new agreement for shearers and shed-hands will be held at Wellington on June 22. In reply to a request for the proposals of the sheep-owners, Mr. W. H. Nicholson (secretary of the Sheepowners’ Federation) has written to Mr. C. Grayndler (general secretary of the New Zealand Workers’ Union) stating that the sheep-owners’ executive will not be in a position to supply these until after a preliminary meeting, which is to be held in Wellington immediately previous to the meeting with the New Zealand Workers’ Union on June 22.
