THE SEAMEN’S DISPUTE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Arbitration Court has concluded the hearing of the seamen s dispute, which will be resumed at Dunedin on June 15. Mr. Young’s address was confined to the position of the Northern Company. TAUMARUNUI SEEKS FREEHOLD. Taumarunui, Last Night. Word was received by the town clerk to-day that the requisite 50 per cent, of lessees had made an application to the Ck nmissioner of Crown Lands and paid a deposit for the purchase of the freehold of the Taumarunui town from the natives. The Government will now proceed with the purchase on the terms of the regulations provided under the Act. The new tenure will materially assist the borough in negotiating loans for improvements.
