STEAMERS COLLIDE.
ONE VESSEL BEACHED NO CASUALTIES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Maj' 23, 10.50 p.m. S ydney, May 23. The steamer Meeinderry and the steamer Wallsend collided in the early hours of this morning, off Red Head, near Newcastle. The Meeinderry was badly damaged, and put back to port in a sinking condition, with flooded boiler-room, but the captain managed to beach her. The Wallsend was not affected.
